Academic Dean

The Academic Dean serves as the assistant to the principal and is primarily responsible for driving the day-to-day academic direction and focus of the school. This pivotal leadership role ensures the highest standards of teaching and learning by working closely with MCLs (Multi-Classroom Leaders), anchor teachers, and the entire instructional team. Reporting directly to the principal with oversight from the Managing Director, the Academic Dean plays a critical role in promoting student achievement, supporting teacher development, and ensuring Promise Academy’s commitment to becoming THE model of excellence and innovation in education.

Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher serves as a critical instructional partner in the classroom, working collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to ensure every scholar receives a high-quality education. While the Lead Teacher is the designated classroom leader, the Assistant Teacher is a professional peer and contributor, supporting instructional planning, classroom management, and student achievement. Associate Teachers are encouraged to engage in continuous professional development and to view themselves as future educational leaders.

Business Manager

The Business Manager plays a critical role in managing the school’s financial operations, data analysis, and administrative functions. This position ensures the effective and efficient use of resources, supports data-driven decision-making, and maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, data analysis, and administrative support within an educational setting. The Business Manager answers to the principal with oversight by the Finance Manager.

Day Porter

The Day Porter at our elementary school is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff. The Day Porter will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, and assisting with maintenance tasks as needed.

Dean of Culture

Promise Academy is seeking a Dean of Culture who will lead with vision, empathy, and consistency to build and maintain a strong, positive school culture. The Dean of Culture plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to grow both academically and personally. This leader will partner with students, staff, and families to support a climate of high expectations, equity, and restorative practices, while reinforcing Promise Academy’s core values throughout daily school life.

Director of Operations

The Director of Operations is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the network. The role requires a combination of strategic planning, management, and operational expertise to ensure that the network operates efficiently and effectively in support of the network's vision, mission, and goals. The Director of Operations is a critical leadership position that requires a strong understanding of the charter school landscape, operational best practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization. They should have a proven track record of success in managing complex organizations, a deep commitment to educational equity, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Director of Safety and Technology

The Director of Safety and Technology for our network is a dynamic and strategic leader responsible for ensuring the safety of students and staff while leveraging technology to enhance educational outcomes. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive safety policies, emergency preparedness plans, and risk assessments to create a secure learning environment. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Director of Special Populations

The Director of Special Populations is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of special education programs and services. This includes managing special education staff, monitoring compliance with federal and state regulations (IEPs, 504s, etc.), and collaborating with school administrators and teachers to ensure that students with disabilities receive appropriate educational services. The Director also plays a key role in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to special education and in providing professional development to staff on best practices in special education. Additionally, the Director will work with families, student support service partners, and community organizations to build partnerships that support the academic and social-emotional success of students with disabilities.

Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations and facilities of the network. This role involves developing and implementing efficient processes and procedures to support the smooth functioning of school operations and ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the facilities. The Facilities Manager will work directly with the Director of Operations, Principal, and with various stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and provide a conducive environment for learning and working. The Facilities Manager answers to the Principal.

Interventionist

The Interventionist supports the academic success of scholars by delivering small group and individualized instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Working closely with Lead Teachers, MCLs, and school leadership, the Interventionist helps drive daily academic progress and ensures targeted interventions are aligned with curriculum goals and student data. This role is designed for someone who is deeply committed to equity, instructional excellence, and a belief in the promise of every child.

Managing Director

The Managing Director at Promise Academy Charter Schools is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing both academic and accountability systems to ensure the highest standards of educational excellence. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role drives innovation across instructional practices and operational accountability while ensuring compliance with all metrics required by the Tennessee Public Charter Schools Commission. The Managing Director plays a vital role in advancing Promise Academy’s mission to become THE model of excellence and innovation in education.

Multi-Classroom Leader

The Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL) plays a pivotal role in the Opportunity Culture initiative, designed to extend the reach of excellent teachers and their teams to more students. The MCL is responsible for leading a team of teachers and instructional support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high levels of student achievement. This position combines leadership and teaching responsibilities, with a focus on improving instructional practices, fostering professional development, and driving academic excellence. The position answers directly to the building level principal with oversight by the Managing Director.

Principal

The Elementary School Principal is the instructional leader and administrative head of the school, responsible for creating and sustaining a positive, safe, and effective learning environment. The principal will oversee all school operations, including curriculum development, staff management, student services, and community relations. This role requires a visionary leader committed to fostering academic excellence, supporting teacher development, and promoting a culture of collaboration and inclusivity. This position reports directly to the Managing Director.

Social Worker

The Elementary School Social Worker provides direct and indirect support services to students and families to enhance students’ academic, social, and emotional success. This individual serves as a key member of the student support team, helping to address barriers to learning, promote positive behavior, and ensure a safe and inclusive school environment.

Teacher

Teachers at Promise Academy play a pivotal role in fulfilling the school’s mission by cultivating a learning environment rooted in excellence, innovation, and love for learning. Teachers are expected to maintain high expectations for all students, deliver rigorous instruction, and contribute to a culture where diversity, equity, empathy, and inclusion are upheld daily.
